Director of Practice Transformation Innovation, Center for Insights to Outcomes

Emily Seltzer is the director of practice transformation at the Center for Insights to Outcomes.

Her portfolio focuses on improving access and health outcomes for women in the greater Philadelphia region. She designs, tests, and scales new health care services that enhance quality and experience for both patients and providers. Emily's projects leverage technology and novel workflows to support patients outside of health care settings and enable providers to stay connected with their patients between visits. Sample projects include Healing at Home, a novel program that bridges the gap in fourth-trimester care with the help of an automated postpartum chatbot, and Heart Safe Motherhood, an evidence-based texting program for postpartum women with hypertension.

In her prior work, Emily's efforts were primarily focused on academic research. Her research focused on the relationship between digital footprints and health outcomes and health care utilization. Additionally, Emily worked as a research specialist in the Neurology and Geriatric Psychology Departments at the University of Pennsylvania, where she collected and analyzed neurocognitive data.

Emily received her master's degree in public health with a concentration in community health from New York University and completed her bachelor's degree at Penn State University.
