Anna Morgan

Anna Morgan serves as an advisor to CHTI. Currently, she leads the PATH (Practical Alternative to Hospitalization) program, which seeks to shift care normally delivered in hospitals to the home setting, and the Centralized Lipids project, which is focused on implementing evidence-based workflows to increase statin prescribing in high-risk primary care patients. Previous work with the Center include serving as the medical director for COVID Watch, a text messaging program that enrolled over 30,000 patients and was shown to save lives. She also worked on text messaging programs for hypertension and care transitions.

Anna is a practicing primary care physician and an assistant clinical professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. She also serves as the director of the LDI-Penn Medicine Research Laboratory and the medical director of Penn Partners in Care. Her work focuses on primary care innovation and redesign, the intersection between research and clinical operations, and the optimal use of technology in health care. Anna’s work has published in journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, Health Affairs, NJEM Catalyst, Annals of Internal Medicine, and the American Journal of Public Health.

Anna graduated from Swarthmore College and the University of California Irvine School of Medicine and holds an MSc in Health, Population and Society from the London School of Economics. She also holds a Master of Science in health policy research from the University of Pennsylvania. She completed residency and chief residency in internal medicine at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles and was a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania.
