This is a feasibility study for using Google search data as a tool for gaining insight into questions patients have about their health or the care they are receiving.  To date, more than 100 participants have enrolled to participate in the study.

By comparing the search queries patients make before and after a hospitalization to information in their electronic health record, we hope to gain an understanding of what kinds of searches might predict a health care outcome as well as what questions patients have pertaining to their condition after leaving the hospital.

Our hope is that this study can improve patient experience and allow for more personalized listening.  Stay tuned for further detail as we continue this work.
