Application Developer (Data Programmer)

Arthur Pelullo is an application developer (data programmer) at the Penn Medicine Center for Digital Health. His work encompasses both research and providing infrastructure support for the team. Arthur’s research is centered around the PA Cure grant initiative, which aims to build a novel, real-time surveillance and reporting system for acute illnesses across the state of Pennsylvania by combining social media data with conventional health data. He is also interested in scientific, statistical, and digital literacy, as well as, issues in data privacy and operations management.

Prior to joining the team, Arthur worked at Banner Promotions Boxing Agency as an IT systems manager, and at Paul VI High School as a science teacher. He graduated from the University of Delaware with a bachelor’s degree in physics and his first master’s degree in economics with a concentration in applied econometrics. He later earned his second master’s degree in scientific computing from Rutgers University-Camden.
